Details of the court fees can be found on the Isle of Man Courts of Justice website www.courts.im if the judgment is set-aside it will be removed from the records of the Isle of Man Court and once Registry Trust have been informed the information will be removed from the Register.

Notification will be sent to the credit reference agencies to update their files.

Having a IOM Judgment Set Aside

To have an IOM Judgment set aside, you will need to contact the Isle of Man General Registry whereby you would need to make an application to set-aside aside the judgment for a fee of £132.50.

IOM Judgments Paid Within a Calendar Month

If the judgment is paid in full within a calendar month from the date of judgment, the judgment can be removed from the public Register.

Registry Trust Ltd will require a letter from the Claimant on letter headed paper (where possible) which states the:


• The name and address of the defendant the judgment was recorded against
• Serial Number
• Amount
• Date Paid in Full

IOM Judgments Issued in Error

Registry Trust Ltd will remove IOM Judgments issued in error if a letter is received on letter headed paper (where possible) and stating the judgment was issued in error with the following information;

  • The name and address of the defendant the judgment was recorded against
    • Serial number
    • Amount
    • IOM Judgment was issued in error

We may need to contact the Claimant on your behalf if the proof of payment is insufficient.

For a search of our Register confirming the IOM Judgment has been updated, you will need to submit a cheque for £6 made payable to Registry Trust Ltd, for each named person or business at a specified address.
